Dr. William Young earned his bachelors degree in sociology, following by earning a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy, and finishing his education by earning a Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy all from Texas Tech University. William grew up in Temple Texas where is initially discovered his passion for counseling and serving others through his work at a substance abuse treatment program as an intern following High School. William moved to Lubbock to study and be involved with a new program at the time, The Center for the Study of Addiction and Recovery. There William advanced his knowledge and skillset in the field of addiction studies and recovery and met his mentors who still mentor him today.
William started his psychotherapy practice after graduating with his Ph.D. in order to serve a need he discovered and provide more quality, hands on, and individualized care for individuals, couples, and families. William specializes in relational work and substance use disorder for the individual and the family. William incorporates his own experience, strength, and hope, along with cognitive behavioral therapy and experiential modalities.
William is an advocate for total wellness and takes a 360 degree approach to health and fitness. Incorporating science and health, William utilizes mindfulness and meditation techniques along with intentional breathing exercises. Including a focus on diet, exercise, and sleep, William places emphasis on identifying controllables along with problematic patterns.
